I’m Just Being Me: When Your Gift Feels Natural but Others See It as Threatening
There’s something I’ve wrestled with for a long time—and maybe you have too.
It’s hard for me to accept that people could be jealous of me… because I’m just me.
I’m not trying to be anyone else. I’m not trying to shine brighter than anyone. I’m simply walking in what comes naturally—my gift.
And that’s the thing about spiritual gifts.
When you’re truly walking in yours, it doesn’t feel spectacular.
It feels like breathing. Like being.
It’s not something I switch on and off—it’s just who I am.
So I don’t always understand why others would envy it.
I want to say, “You can do this too.”
Because I believe that. I believe everyone has gifts.
I believe everyone has a lane and a light.
But the reality is…
Not everyone chooses to walk in theirs.
And sometimes, that becomes the very reason they resent you for walking in yours.
The Gift of Discernment Feels Like a Double-Edged Sword
Another truth that’s been hard to swallow is this:
As a gifted person, I can see people’s intentions—especially when they’re not pure.
And you’d think that would be empowering,
but sometimes it’s heartbreaking.
Because I want to believe in people.
I want to believe in the best in them.
But the gift doesn’t lie.
Discernment has a way of whispering (and sometimes screaming):
“They don’t really support you.”
“They’re around you, but not for you.”
“They smile, but there’s something underneath.”
That’s not easy to accept,
especially when you have a soft heart and pure intentions of your own.
The Loneliness of Being Gifted
This road can be lonely.
Not because you’re hard to love,
but because pure-hearted, intentional people are rare.
And when you have something radiant and real—when you carry light—
those with shadow will either try to dim you, distract you,
or disguise themselves to get close.
But I want to remind you (and myself) of something important:
You are not too much for feeling this way.
You are not imagining it.
Your gift is valid.
Your intuition is not broken.
Your discernment is not a burden.
It’s protection.
It’s clarity.
It’s sacred.
If You’re Walking This Path Too…
Let this be your confirmation:
✨ It’s not your job to shrink so others feel comfortable.
✨ It’s not your fault that your gift feels effortless.
✨ And it’s not on you to explain your light to people who have already decided to look away.
Stay soft.
Stay sharp.
Stay you.
The right ones will recognize your heart—not just your gift.
